Sierra Metals' odyssey extended into Peru in 2011, acquiring a significant stake in Sociedad Minera Corona S.A.—the owner of the Yauricocha Mine. A transformative period ensued with increased production capacity to 2,800 tonnes per day, marking the evolution from a junior entity to a mid-tier metals producer.

TECHNOLOGICAL AKIN AND EXPANSION

The technological enhancements implemented from Q3 2015 to Q2 2016 at the Yauricocha Mine led to optimizations throughout the operational spectrum. Moreover, the expansion efforts at the Mexican facilities, including the Piedras Verdes Mill, reflected the company's relentless pursuit of growth, with anticipated increases in throughput capacity to 3,500 tonnes per day by 2018.
