Power Metallic Mines Inc. (TSX.V: PNPN) is currently advancing its flagship Nisk Project in Quebec, a site that has evolved into one of Canada's most significant high-grade polymetallic discoveries. Originally recognized as a promising nickel sulfide play, recent exploration has transformed the project's profile into a rare orthomagmatic discovery comparable to world-class districts such as Norilsk in Russia, Sakatti in Finland, and Voisey’s Bay in Canada. This transformation was primarily driven by the discovery of the Lion Zone, which revealed exceptional grades of copper and platinum group elements alongside nickel, gold, and silver.

The Nisk Project is strategically located near Nemaska, Quebec, within a premier mining jurisdiction that offers a stable political environment and strong partnerships with both the government and local First Nations. The project’s logistical advantages are substantial, featuring a Hydro-Québec substation located directly across the road, which provides the operation with low-carbon, inexpensive hydropower. Additionally, the site is adjacent to major highways and is supported by nearby community infrastructure and an airport. These factors, combined with Quebec’s generous tax credits that cover 50% of exploration and development costs, significantly enhance the project’s economic viability.

Mineralogically, the Nisk Project comprises two distinct but related zones. The NISK Main zone is characterized by a significant nickel-sulfide resource, while the Lion Zone represents a polymetallic breakthrough. Current estimates suggest a combined potential resource of approximately 16.5 million tonnes, including 7.1 million tonnes of nickel equivalent and over 9.4 million tonnes of copper equivalent based on recent analyst modeling. Drilling at the Lion Zone has yielded some of the highest-grade base metal intersections reported globally in recent years, with top assays averaging over 20 meters at approximately 8% copper equivalent. Notably, hole PN-24-055 returned 15.4 meters of 5.1% copper and 13.12 g/t palladium, underscoring the high concentration of noble metals in the deposit.

Beyond its mineral wealth, the Nisk Project is designed with a focus on modern sustainability. The presence of ultramafic host rocks offers the unique potential for carbon sequestration. Ultramafic tailings are known to naturally react with atmospheric carbon dioxide to form stable carbonate minerals, a process that can be accelerated through specialized processing to offset a significant portion of a mine's carbon footprint. This capability, coupled with the project’s shallow average mineral depth and use of renewable hydropower, positions Nisk as a potential leader in low-carbon critical mineral production.

Power Metallic is currently executing an aggressive 100,000-meter district-wide exploration program, fully funded through 2026 with a $50 million capital reserve. The company’s strategic outlook is supported by high-profile investors, including Robert Friedland, Gina Rinehart, and Rob McEwen, who have provided backing for the project's rapid development. Looking ahead, the company expects a constant flow of assay results from its six active drill rigs and plans to release a formal feasibility study covering the NISK Main body. These milestones, along with planned metallurgical reports and potential upgrades to senior stock exchanges, mark 2025 and 2026 as pivotal years for the company's growth as a major player in the global battery metals market.
