is a collaboration between peak member associations for minerals professionals worldwide, taking a leadership role in pursuing and continuing the development of best practice professionalism in the minerals industry. Established in 2011, the GMPA encourages the exchange of knowledge and technology, promotes technical and professional excellence, delivers programs for education and professional development, and provides an international forum for knowledge sharing, business networking, and public information. GMPA members are the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining (IOM3), Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas de Chile (IIMCh), Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas del Peru (IIMP), Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME), and West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (WAIMM).
