Almaden Minerals Ltd.

Almaden Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: AMM | OTCQB: AAUAF) is a Vancouver-based mineral exploration company. Its principal asset is the Ixtaca gold–silver deposit on the Tuligtic property in Puebla State, Mexico – a multi-million-ounce discovery made by Almaden’s own exploration team (a 2018 feasibility study outlined proven & probable reserves of roughly 1.39 million ounces of gold and 85 million ounces of silver).

Following Mexican court rulings on Indigenous consultation, Almaden’s Ixtaca mineral concessions were suspended and ultimately retroactively terminated. In June 2024 Almaden, together with Almadex Minerals, commenced international arbitration against Mexico under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), filing a Request for Arbitration with ICSID. By 2026 the claimed damages had been raised to approximately US$2.68 billion, with an in-person hearing scheduled for December 2026; the arbitration is funded by a non-recourse litigation facility.

The company is led by President & CEO Douglas McDonald, with founder James Duane Poliquin as Chairman. Head office: Vancouver, British Columbia.
